Abundance of events and celebrations declared for the "Experience Winter in Qatar" initiative

Qatar is gearing up for an unforgettable winter season, as Qatar Tourist and Qatar Airways have announced a lineup of events and activities collectively known as the "Feeling Winter in Qatar" project. The announcement was made at Mina Hotel and Residences, led by H E Akbar Al Baker, QT Chairman and Qatar Airways Group President, along with other QT officials.

The winter season promises a diverse range of experiences for everyone, from cultural festivals to family-friendly events, and outdoor activities. One of the highlights of the season is the Disney Princess Concert, which will be held at Katara Ampitheatre from January 26 to January 28. The concert features Broadway and West End artists, a live performance by the Qatar Philharmonic Band, and a special appearance by Disney princesses.

Another exciting event is the Qatar Balloon Festival, which launched yesterday and runs until January 28. The festival features over 50 hot air balloons from 17 different countries, although strong winds prevented hot air balloon flights yesterday. Instead, giant illuminated kites were included, which will be on display daily. The festival also includes live entertainment, food trucks, and food stalls.

For sports enthusiasts, the Qatar TotalEnergies Open (tennis) will be held at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex from February 13 to 18, and the Qatar ExxonMobil Open will take place from February 20 to 25 at the same venue.

The 12th Qatar International Food Festival will occur from March 1 to 11 at Hotel Park, offering a culinary extravaganza with a variety of food stalls and trucks. Al Shaqab will organize equestrian events from February 23 to 25, while the Qatar GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup 2023 will take place at Fuwairit Kite Coastline from January 31 to February 4.

As Qatar aims to welcome six million visitors every year by 2030, Al Baker described that they anticipate the year ahead and the new and exciting phase for tourism. The "Feel Winter Season in Qatar" project is a seasonal expansion of QT's central "Feel more in Qatar" brand platform, which has introduced new opportunities, including resorts, shopping malls, public beaches, and more, which have enhanced and expanded the nation's hospitality, recreation, and tourism landscapes.

To complement the winter season, Qatar Tourism's new ambassador, Qatari rally driver Nasser Abdullah Al Attiyah, was also introduced at the conference. He recently won the Dakar Rally car crown for the fifth time. The festival taking place in the green area of Doha Port, in front of the Grand Cruise Terminal, is another addition to the country's tourism offerings.

The winter season will conclude with Ramadan Fete, which will have family-friendly activities around Qatar. More details will be announced later by Qatar Tourist. As Al Baker noted, Qatar has caught the attention of the world and is now one of the most popular destinations in the global tourism market. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, checking official tourism and airline websites is recommended.

The diverse range of experiences during the winter season includes not only cultural events and family-friendly activities but also outdoor activities such as the Qatar Balloon Festival, featuring hot air balloons from various countries and live entertainment, food trucks, and food stalls. Additionally, food enthusiasts can look forward to the 12th Qatar International Food Festival, offering a variety of culinary delights at Hotel Park from March 1 to 11.
