Aeon Mall Vietnam Triples Expansion Plans by 2030, Kicks Off New $151.6M Mall in Bac Ninh
Aeon Mall Vietnam, a subsidiary of Japanese retail giant Aeon, is expanding its footprint in Vietnam. The company aims to triple its shopping centers and stores by 2030, with the country being a key market for investment. By the end of 2025, Aeon plans to finalize its product and tenant strategies and submit approval documents promptly.
Aeon has already invested approximately $1.5 billion in Vietnam since 2014, operating 8 shopping malls, 15 general merchandise stores, and 182 convenience stores. The company's growth is evident in its upcoming projects. In Bac Ninh province, home to over 3.6 million people and global tech giants, Aeon Mall Vietnam and Newland Investment JSC will start construction of a VND4 trillion ($151.6 million) shopping mall on December 19. The project, spanning over 7.6 hectares, has completed land procedures and environmental impact assessments. Bac Ninh authorities will provide maximum support to ensure a timely groundbreaking ceremony.
Additionally, Aeon plans to open a mid-sized supermarket in Hai Phong in 2026. This expansion aligns with Bac Ninh's goal to become a centrally-run city by early 2028, with Aeon's projects playing a significant role in achieving this goal.
With a strong commitment to Vietnam, Aeon Mall Vietnam is set to open a new shopping mall in Bac Ninh on December 19, further solidifying its presence in the country. The company's strategic plans and investments are expected to contribute to Vietnam's economic growth and provide more shopping options for locals and tourists alike.
