Aragon Properties Unveils Rosemead House, a Luxury Boutique Hotel in Esquimalt
Aragon Properties has unveiled Rosemead House, a meticulously restored Edwardian estate in Esquimalt's Saxe Point, following a decade-long transformation. The grand opening of this boutique hotel marks a significant milestone in the region's hospitality scene.
Originally built in 1906 as the Old English Inn, Rosemead House was designed by renowned architect Samuel Maclure. The restored estate now boasts 28 guest rooms and 13 long-stay suites, set to open later this year. Each room is uniquely designed, offering guests a personalized experience with no two spaces being alike.
The hotel's culinary offerings are led by Janevca Kitchen & Lounge, headed by Chef Andrea Alridge. The restaurant, known for its wood-fired cuisine, has been nominated for Air Canada's Best New Restaurant 2025. Guests can also enjoy The Crown Mezzanine library, adorned with art and heirlooms, including pieces used in the Netflix series The Crown.
Rosemead House's interiors showcase hundreds of hand-selected antiques and rare furnishings sourced from UK estate auctions and London hotels. The hotel also features a 3,800-square-foot Salt & Ivy Spa, opening in two phases, and a 2,500-square-foot meeting and event space. For fitness enthusiasts, a 1,400-square-foot fitness centre equipped with Peloton bikes and state-of-the-art equipment is available.
The $25 million restoration of Rosemead House has resulted in a unique hospitality gem in Esquimalt. With its personalized guest experiences, exceptional dining, and luxurious amenities, Rosemead House is poised to become a premier destination for travelers seeking a distinctive and memorable stay.
