Andalusia, the epitome of Spain, boasts breathtaking beaches, majestic mountains, and the exquisite Al-Andalus architecture in Granada, Cordoba, and Seville, complemented by the ubiquitous tapas. However, a new trend has emerged in the region, the rise of cocktails, which can be credited to individuals like Rafael Delgado at Meliã Lebreros, as Andrew Forbes discusses in his article. Meliã, a renowned Spanish establishment, is at the forefront of this modern cocktail scene.

Artisanal Cocktails and Tapas in Seville's Melia Lebreros Hotel: Savoring Authentic Mixology in Andalusia's Capital

Andalucia, renowned for its verdant landscapes, architectural wonders, and traditional tapas, is now cultivating a burgeoning appreciation for artisan cocktails. Seville, in particular, has emerged as a hub for this emerging trend, with Meliá Lebreros leading the charge.

Meliá, a distinguished Spanish hotel group, is home to the Meliá Lebreros, a business and leisure hotel nestled near Seville's city center. This property has garnered recognition for its fantastic artisan cocktails, largely due to the dedication of Rafael Delgado, the bar manager, and his team.

The Bribone Sevilla, the hotel's new concept cocktail bar, is at the heart of the hotel's minimalist style lobby. Here, patrons can dine, socialize, and savor a range of classic and signature cocktails crafted by expert mixologist Rafael Delgado and his team. The establishment offers a 'passport' of sorts, guiding patrons through a world of flavors and creative mixes – perfect for urban travelers eager to discover something contemporary beyond the city's traditional fare.

Each cocktail served at Bribone Sevilla comes with a unique story, with creative details chronicled on the passport's pages. One standout choice is the "Miarma Wagon," a tempting concoction featuring Bombay Gin, Apple liqueur, and Liqueur 43, inspired by a local legend. Another popular option is "Last Station," a refreshing long cocktail infused with Southern Comfort, lime, and apple.

Given Spain's inherent love for food, visitors to Bribone Sevilla are encouraged to indulge in a variety of hot and cold tapas dishes, fresh from the kitchen. The team at Bribone constantly introduces new drinks tailored to the season, with the talented Eduardo de La Vega having recently created "Mystique." Conversely, Roberto Borriello crafted the "Five o' clock" as a new afterwork cocktail, while Ana Parra is responsible for "Aged Gin."

As the summer months approach, Bribone Sevilla hosts live music events and launches new drinks to accompany guests' evenings. Moreover, the cocktail bar also organizes prestigious Cocktail Masterclasses, with Meliá Lebreros scheduled to host the "XLVIII Concurso Regional de Coctelería" regional cocktail competition on May 22, 2019.

Since we made an evening of it, staying at the hotel was a delightful experience. The hotel features The Level, a specialized concept for guests that includes a private lounge, an exclusive check-in and concierge service, relaxation areas, an open bar serving a generous selection of canapés and snacks, and more.

The benefits of staying at The Level include a private breakfast, open bar service with aperitifs, wine, champagne, beer, water, and soft drinks (available from 12 midday to 7pm), private check-in and express service, Wi-Fi access, a work area with two Mac computers and a printer, access to two private terraces, and private meeting and event rooms (pre-booking is required).

In addition to the dining options, including the all-day Mosaico restaurant and the traditional Spanish tavern, La Taberna de La Dehesa, Meliá Lebreros boasts impressive leisure facilities. These include a stunning 270-square-meter pool and a gym, providing ample opportunities to unwind and relax during your stay.

The hotel's atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, with staff that are genuinely attentive. Although the architecture may be considered somewhat outdated, let this not deter you from experiencing the genuine charm and variety this hotel has to offer. The Bribone Sevilla concept is an exciting step in the development of cocktail culture in Andalucia and deserves nothing but success.
