Bolt South Africa has rolled out a new feature for its scheduled rides, offering passengers a more seamless and reliable airport transport experience. The Flight Tracking feature, designed primarily for Bolt Business users, allows riders to link their flight details to their airport pickups, ensuring that their ride adjusts automatically if their flight is delayed or cancelled.
With this integration, Bolt's system monitors any changes to the flight's arrival time, such as delays or early arrivals, to ensure the driver arrives at the airport at the correct time. This feature aims to reduce wait times, missed connections, and provide peace of mind for passengers.
Lerato Motsoeneng, Senior General Manager at Bolt, stated, "Customers can now enjoy peace of mind knowing their ride will adjust if their flight is delayed or cancelled."
The scheduling window for Bolt's scheduled rides was extended to 90 days last year, and the feature has seen a 275% increase in usage. To use the Flight Tracking feature, passengers can tap "Schedule" on the Bolt app home screen, enter their arrival airport, destination, and tap "Add flight details."
The feature is currently available at major airports like OR Tambo (JNB), Cape Town (CPT), King Shaka (DUR), Lanseria (HLA), and Port Elizabeth (PLZ). This integration helps improve punctuality and convenience for riders going to or from these airports by syncing ride times with real-time flight data.
