Dr. Rajaram Tripathi Represents India at Montenegro's National Day Festivities upon Special Invitation
Dr. Rajaram Tripathi, a renowned expert in organic farming and rural development from Chhattisgarh, India, was invited to attend a diplomatic celebration for Montenegro's National Day on July 11, 2025, at The Ashok Hotel's Convention Hall in New Delhi. This honourable invitation was a recognition of the significant contributions made by the 'Maa Danteshwari Herbal Group', its farming community, and the state of Chhattisgarh in the field of organic farming and medicinal plant cultivation.
The Maa Danteshwari Herbal Group, established in 1996, is more than a farming collective; it is a research and training hub aiming to disseminate knowledge on organic farming and medicinal plant cultivation. Under the leadership of Dr. Tripathi, the group has developed organic cultivation methods for medicinal plants, empowered tribal communities, and promoted eco-friendly farming practices, aligning with Chhattisgarh’s identity as a rich source of herbal biodiversity.
Dr. Tripathi's pioneering work with tribal farming communities engaged in medicinal plant cultivation has earned him prestigious awards such as the "Richest Organic Farmer of India" and recognition from dignitaries including the late President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for his contributions to agriculture and organic farming. His efforts have not only impacted local farmers in Bastar but have also inspired agri-policy adoption in distant states like Haryana and Rajasthan.
The Maa Danteshwari Herbal Farms and Research Center serves as a model for sustainable agriculture, embodying a holistic organic movement deeply rooted in devotion and respect for nature. This success has garnered international attention, exemplified by Dr. Tripathi’s special invitation to Montenegro’s National Day celebration as a representative of India’s traditional agricultural heritage.
During the event, Dr. Tripathi held a meeting with Consul General Dr. Janice Darbari and extended an invitation to visit the Maa Danteshwari Herbal Farm & Research Centre. He emphasized the opportunities for Indo-Montenegrin collaboration in mountain organic farming, herbal agriculture, and tribal-based research.
Mr. M.C. Dominic, Founder of a website group, spoke about the "Richest Organic Farmer of India Award" recently conferred upon Dr. Tripathi. He commended Dr. Tripathi's pioneering efforts with tribal communities involved in organic and medicinal plant cultivation.
The engagement opened promising new international avenues for the tribal farming communities of Chhattisgarh. This diplomatic celebration brought India's organic heritage to the global stage, offering valuable insights for India's hilly and tribal regions and providing opportunities for further collaboration in the future. Other dignitaries present at the event included Mrs. Shiny, Executive Director, and Mamta Jain, Chief Correspondent.
