Dubai-based airline enhances summer schedules with additional flights to Al Alamein, Egypt, and Antalya, Turkey.

In a significant move to cater to the growing demand for summer travel, Flydubai has announced an expansion of its operations for the summer season of 2025. The airline will launch seasonal operations to 11 cities, including new destinations in Egypt and Türkiye, and will resume services to popular seasonal spots across Europe.

The latest addition to Flydubai's fleet, the Boeing 737 MAX 8, introduced in April 2025, will support the airline's summer schedule. With the expansion, Flydubai will now serve six destinations in Türkiye, including the newly introduced Antalya. Daily flights from Dubai International Airport to Antalya will start on 5th June, and flights to Al Alamein in Egypt will commence on 21st June.

The airline's Business Class travel is experiencing a significant growth, with a 20% increase in Business Class passengers recorded in the first quarter of 2025 compared to last year. Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, stated that the expansion is a reflection of the airline's commitment to meeting customer demand.

Flydubai is reopening pivotal routes like Dubai-Damascus, marking the first UAE carrier to operate this route in over a decade. The airline is also extending its European network with new flights scheduled to begin between September and December 2025 to cities including Chisinau, Iasi, Riga, and Vilnius. This expansion increases Flydubai's reach to 35 destinations across 20 European countries.

The airline has also increased capacity on high-demand summer routes such as Tbilisi, Baku, Bangkok, and Sarajevo, introducing additional seasonal frequencies to meet the surge in travelers during the summer.

While specific passenger numbers have not been disclosed, the increased capacity, especially on popular routes, and introduction of additional frequencies suggest Flydubai is catering to a rise in demand, including in Business Class segments, amid the summer travel surge.

The expansion of Flydubai's routes is driven by an increase in customer demand for seasonal travel. Obaidalla noted a year-on-year rise in interest for seasonal routes. The airline has built on its established network across Georgia, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Thailand.

The move strengthens Flydubai's presence on the Turkish Riviera and Egypt's North Coast. With this expansion, Flydubai continues to align with Dubai’s status as a global aviation hub effectively handling peak travel seasons.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8, a recent addition to Flydubai's fleet, will support the airline's business class growth, as a 20% increase in Business Class passengers was recorded in the first quarter of 2025 compared to last year. Moreover, Flydubai's expansion in technology, with the introduction of the Boeing 737 MAX 8, will facilitate its finance objectives by serving six destinations in Turkey, including Antalya, and catering to the rise in demand for travel to lifestyle destinations.
