In an exciting development for aviation enthusiasts and travelers in East Westphalia and beyond, skyhub PAD has announced the launch of a new flight connection between Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport and Munich. The initiative, which is a collaboration with Danish Air Transport (DAT), is set to commence on September 1, 2025.

Dominik Lelle, a member of the online editorial team of AERO INTERNATIONAL since 2023, shares the excitement. As a frequent traveler with a passion for making the world of aviation tangible and exciting for readers, he looks forward to the new horizons this connection will open up.

The Paderborn-Munich route will offer up to three daily flights, with departure times coordinated for international connecting flights. This means that business travelers and private individuals will have easy access to many destinations in Europe, Asia, and North America.

The unique Paderborn-Munich route is a significant development in Germany, as many structures had to be created from scratch. Skyhub PAD GmbH & Co. KG, founded in March 2025, was established to strengthen the air traffic location in Paderborn and secure the essential connection to Munich for the regional economy.

Christoph Plass, chairman of the supervisory board of skyhub PAD and vice-president of the IHK Ostwestfalen, emphasizes the uniqueness of the project. He notes that the region acted swiftly after the discontinuation of the previous flight connection between Paderborn and Munich in May 2025.

DAT will operate the Paderborn-Munich route with a modern ATR72-600, accommodating 70 passengers. Ticket prices for the Paderborner to Munich route start at 149 euros per leg, including all taxes and fees. Flights from Paderborn to Munich will depart on Mondays to Fridays and Sundays at three different times: 7:00 AM, 1:55 PM, and 6:30 PM. Return flights from Munich to Paderborn will occur at three different times: 9:00 AM, 4:10 PM, and 8:35 PM.

An interlining agreement with Lufthansa is expected to be finalized in June 2025, allowing for bookings with checked baggage through Munich to worldwide destinations. Early booking is recommended due to the expected high demand for the Paderborn-Munich route.

This new connection is a significant step forward for the aviation industry in the region and is expected to boost tourism and economic growth. As Dominik Lelle puts it, "The world of aviation is about to get even more exciting for travelers in East Westphalia."
