"Frequencies of 'Aeroflot' flights heading to Moscow from Kamchatka have been boosted"
In an effort to cater to the growing demand for air travel during the summer months, Aeroflot, the largest and undisputed leader in Russian civil aviation, has announced an increase in flights to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
The schedule change will see a peak summer frequency of up to 27 flights per week on the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - Moscow route. This increase is designed to accommodate the higher travel demand during peak seasons, typically summer months when vacations and other seasonal activities drive up travel to the Far East.
Aeroflot's expanded service will provide a significant boost to accessibility and economic growth in the region. The increased flights will facilitate travel and trade between Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Moscow, supporting tourism and business activities. Moreover, the enhanced connectivity will help maintain social connections between the Far East and the rest of Russia, making it easier for people to visit family and friends or conduct business in the capital city.
It's worth noting that Aeroflot operates direct flights from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport (SVO), providing a convenient travel option for passengers. The airline, which is fulfilling an important state task by providing affordable air travel for the country's residents, will add a third and fourth flight on certain days of the week, in addition to the second daily flight that was launched from June 1.
Alexander Safonov, the Minister of Transport and Road Construction of Kamchatka Krai, announced the details of the schedule. By July, the frequency of flights will reach 27 per week. This summer, such tariffs from Aeroflot Group airlines are available for the entire period.
In 2024, Aeroflot's passenger traffic reached a total of 55.3 million passengers, with 30.1 million passengers on the Aeroflot airline itself. The Aeroflot Group, which also includes airlines Russia and Pobeda, remains the largest player in Russian civil aviation.
This increased frequency of flights is a testament to Aeroflot's commitment to providing reliable and affordable air travel options for residents and tourists alike, and to fostering stronger connections between Russia's Far East and its capital city.
The increased flights on the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - Moscow route, up to 27 per week, are part of Aeroflot's strategy to accommodate the rise in travel demand during peak seasons, enhancing both tourism and business activities. This expanded service will make it easier for people to maintain social connections between the Far East and the rest of Russia, highlighting Aeroflot's aim to foster a lifestyle that encourages travel and promotes integration.
