The 8th edition of the "LiTR" Festival, an annual literary event, is set to take place in Vladivostok from October 10-12 this year. This year's festival will be a significant one, as it will mark the continuation of the second International Forum "Literary Bridges: Meeting Each Other."

The International Forum, a direct continuation of the program of the VI "Pacific Literature" festival, first took place in 2023. The inaugural event was held simultaneously in Harbin, China, and Seoul, South Korea. Cross-border dialogues were a central part of the first International Forum, bringing together literary and academic circles from Russia, China, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The organizing committee of the International Forum included Alexander Zubritsky, the president of the Asian-Pacific Association of Russian Language and Literature Teachers (APARLL). Zubritsky shared his vision for the festival, emphasising its role in promoting Russian language and literature, including in the Asia-Pacific region.

The first International Forum focused on the classics of neighbouring countries in the Asia-Pacific region, specifically China, Japan, and Korea. Over the years, the "LiTR" festival has succeeded in creating an international team for humanitarian cooperation, attracting participants from China, Vietnam, Japan, Mongolia, and South Korea.

This year's festival will continue to explore the classics of neighbouring countries, but with a focus on the main concept of the upcoming "LiTR" festival: the study and reinterpretation of classical works of Russian literature. According to the organizers, it is important to turn to classical works during the active transformation of domestic public thought, as these works often pose questions that the Russian state and society are still seeking answers to in the 21st century.

The festival will be held at the Naberezhny Sports Harbor and the pedestrian part of Fokin Street in Vladivostok. The Russian delegation, consisting of writers, publishers, and journalists, will participate in the festival, further strengthening the cross-cultural connections forged during the first International Forum in 2023.

The 8th "LiTR" Festival and the Second International Forum "Literary Bridges: Meeting Each Other" promise to be a memorable event, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the literary traditions of Russia and its neighbouring countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
