Manar Abu Dhabi Returns with 'The Light Compass' Theme

From November 15, 2025, to January 4, 2026, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain will host Manar Abu Dhabi, a captivating public light art exhibition. This year's theme, 'The Light Compass', will explore light's role as a guide and medium in both traditional and modern contexts. The event will feature over 19 newly commissioned led lights and site-specific installations, engaging with varied landscapes and historical sites.

Khai Hori serves as Artistic Director, with Alia Zaal Lootah and Munira Al Sayegh as co-curators, and Mariam Alshehhi as Assistant Curator. The exhibition will unfold across diverse landscapes, including mangroves, sandbanks, gardens, and urban edges in Abu Dhabi. For the first time, Al Ain will also host installations, complementing the Al Ain Traditional Handicrafts Festival. A vibrant public programme of talks, workshops, and performances will accompany the exhibition.

UNESCO World Heritage Site Al Ain's oases will feature light-based installations that interact with the terrain and history. The main stage will be Jubail Island, with select installations in Abu Dhabi from November 1, 2025.
