Marburg rejoices on World Children's Day celebration
The city of Marburg is gearing up for a double celebration on September 20th and 21st, marking World Children's Day. The festivities include the Intercultural Family Festival in Cappel on the 20th and the Children's Festival at the Waggonhalle on the 21st.
On September 21st, from 2 pm to 6 pm, the Children's Festival at the Waggonhalle will take place. The festival, organised by Quartiersmanagement Cappel and the Fachdienst Migration and Refugee Assistance, aims to highlight children's and young people's rights under the motto "Colorful Together".
Visitors can expect a varied program, including music, theatre, information stands, creative and sporting activities, and an exhibition of artworks by children and young people. There will also be face painting, a performance by Clownin Gina Ginella, a participatory children's disco, and an intercultural potluck buffet. Drinks will be provided for the buffet, and attendees are encouraged to bring something to share.
A child-friendly rally will connect the different stands, inviting you to learn about and collect the different children's rights using a children's rights passport. The festival will also feature an interactive activity where children can design and build children's rights building blocks as "pillars of democracy".
Over a dozen associations, social organisations, and cultural institutions are involved in organising the festival. If you would like to help with the festival, you can contact Quartiersmanagement Cappel at 06421 201-5077 or [email protected] or Fachdienst Migration und Flüchtlingshilfe at 06421 201-2547 or [email protected] for more information.

The Intercultural Family Festival in Cappel, taking place on September 20th from 2 pm to 5 pm at Bürgerhaus, Goethestraße 1, 35043 Marburg-Cappel, aims to promote integration, neighbourly interaction, and bring together families and children in the district.
The city of Marburg is proud to host these celebrations, which are part of the Semana Latina, and are aimed at fostering a sense of community and unity among children and families in the city.
