Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, the new World Expo, is set to open its doors on April 13, 2025, and run until October 13. This half-year event promises to be a unique blend of tradition and cutting-edge technology, showcasing the best of innovation, culture, and sustainability from around the globe.

The heart of the Expo site is the Grand Roof Ring, a 2-kilometre structure made from sustainable Japanese timber, symbolising unity, continuity, and global collaboration. Visitors can walk on top of the ring for panoramic views of the entire Expo site and Osaka Bay, with seasonal flower gardens around the base reflecting Japan’s four seasons.

In the East Gate Zone, the Panasonic Group Pavilion (The Land of Nomo) offers interactive exhibits stimulating the five senses with technologies using light, sound, and wind, aiming to unlock visitors' imagination and potential through immersive experiences based on Panasonic’s research.

Nearly 160 countries participate, each with distinctive architectural styles and thematic displays. For example, the Japan Pavilion, nicknamed the pavilion that “eats trash,” embodies sustainability and circular economy concepts. The Nordic Pavilion features giant wooden designs reflecting its cultural heritage.

Monaco has also joined the Expo, creating a pavilion inspired by Mediterranean and Japanese garden spaces. The Monaco pavilion features exhibits that replace trunks and branches of plants with metallic structures, and a cylindrical visual space offering an immersive experience for "underwater" exploration to boost environmental awareness. This pavilion is located in the Connecting Lives zone.

A master sommelier will serve grands crus wines and cognacs from the wine cellar of the renowned Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo at a viewing terrace in the Monaco pavilion.

The Expo runs from 9:00 to 22:00, with pavilions open from 9:00 to 21:00. Official stores near the East and West gates close at 21:45, while restaurants and other shops vary, typically closing by 21:30.
