Music festival Lollapalooza persists with performances by Olivia Rodrigo, Weezer, T-Pain, and local act Flipturn.

In the heart of Chicago, Lollapalooza returned for two days of music, energy, and excitement. The urban backdrop perfectly complemented the festival, seamlessly integrating it with the city.

One of the standout performances came from Irish singer-songwriter Orla Gartland, who graced the Grove stage. Gartland, who has thrived in the music industry and carved out an identity, performed songs from her sophomore full-length studio effort, Everybody Needs a Hero.

Meanwhile, on the T-Mobile main stage, Olivia Rodrigo headlined with a strong set. The pop sensation even surprised the audience by bringing out seminal alt rockers Weezer, performing hits like "Buddy Holly" and "Say It Ain't So".

Tyler, the Creator also headlined on Thursday night, bringing high energy to the festival. Other notable artists included Sam Austins, who made his debut in 2022 with the breakout hit "Seasons", and delivered an engaging early slot on the T-Mobile stage.

Rising stars like Gigi Perez also shone. Perez, who has experienced viral success with "Sailor Song" on Spotify and YouTube, performed on the T-Mobile main stage. Her set included songs like "Please Be Rude," "When She Smiles," "Sleeping," and "Fable", all from her debut full-length studio album At the Beach, in Every Life, released this past spring.

Perez was backed by a tight three-piece group during her performance, adding to the vibrant energy on stage. Another memorable set came from Chicago rapper Star Bandz, who performed a 40-minute set on the BMI stage on Friday.

The festival atmosphere was not just about music. Activities such as the PATRÓN Tequila Hacienda, which featured an unannounced two-person set by electronic duo Two Friends, transformed the space into a lively club scene.

T-Pain also delivered a memorable set on the Bud Light main stage late Friday afternoon. His performance included hits like "Up Down (Do This All Day)", "Cyclone", and a slowed down sample of Michael Jackson's "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" in "The Good Life".

Indie rock band Flipturn also performed at Lollapalooza, looking forward to seeing acts like Rüfüs Du Sol, Djo, Olivia Rodrigo, Junior Varsity, and Madeline Jarman.

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Bo Staloch also performed at Lollapalooza, marking his Wednesday night aftershow set and Thursday afternoon performance. His forthcoming single "Born To" is a declaration of love, intended to transform into friendship or family "whatever kind of love you want to be declaring".

Overall, Lollapalooza 2022 showcased a mixture of rising stars and established artists across genres, with highlights including surprise collaborations, energetic crowd interactions, and a diverse range of musical styles. The festival, despite being held in Chicago for two consecutive days without rain, promises to return next year with more music, more energy, and more surprises.

At the Lollapalooza 2025 festival, fashion-and-beauty enthusiasts might find inspiration from the stylish attire of performers like Orla Gartland, who embodied urban chic on the Grove stage.

For those with a passion for lifestyle and travel, the event offers an opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Chicago, where the festival takes place.

As for music lovers, they can look forward to witnessing acts such as Flipturn, who are excited to see a lineup featuring Rüfüs Du Sol, Djo, Olivia Rodrigo, Junior Varsity, and Madeline Jarman, among others at the 2025 edition of Lollapalooza.
