Renovated 14th-century palace in Puglia now operates as a high-end hotel.
Vista Ostuni, a new five-star luxury hotel, has officially opened its doors in Puglia, Italy. Nestled in the heart of Ostuni, known as the White City, this unique property offers a blend of historical charm and modern sustainable luxury.
Situated within a meticulously restored 14th-century stone palazzo, Vista Ostuni boasts 28 elegant, spacious rooms and suites. The hotel's design seamlessly integrates local materials like wood and stone, creating a natural ambiance that enhances the property's historic character.
The restoration of Vista Ostuni was a labour of love, allowing for the preservation of its heritage. The project, spearheaded by Milan-based architect Roberto Murgia of RMA Studio, has preserved over 64,000 square feet of historic interiors, including soaring ceilings and a glass-roofed cloister. Talented Italian artisans were involved in the restoration process, ensuring the preservation of the property's unique identity.
Vista Ostuni is the first hotel in Puglia to pursue LEED certification, emphasizing energy efficiency, renewable energy use, and habitat preservation. This commitment to sustainability is reflected in the property's amenities, which include a wellness spa, indoor pool, and a fully equipped fitness center for guest relaxation.
Guests can enjoy an expansive spa with a tranquil indoor pool and two outdoor pools, including a rooftop infinity pool and a garden pool. The spa offers treatments inspired by the local landscape, providing a truly immersive experience.
The hotel features four bars and restaurants, all overseen by Michelin-starred chef Andrea Berton. Berton al Vista, the signature fine-dining restaurant, offers refined regional cuisine, while Bianca Bistrot provides a more casual, all-day menu by the garden pool.
The property spans two hectares, including private gardens with olive groves, aromatic herbs, and Mediterranean maquis. These gardens provide stunning views of the surrounding landscape, making Vista Ostuni an ideal destination for nature lovers.
Bianca Passera, chairwoman of Vista, recognized the extraordinary potential of the property upon discovery. She envisioned a luxury hotel that would introduce global travelers to lesser-known parts of Italy without compromising on luxury. With Vista Ostuni, she has achieved just that.
The starting price for a night at Vista Ostuni is $1,004 (€853). For those seeking a unique, sustainable, and luxurious experience in Puglia, Vista Ostuni is an unmissable destination.
