Tomsk, May 16 - RIA Tomsk. For the first time in four months of 2025, inspectors from Rosseľhoznadzor have issued veterinary certificates for the export of pets from the Tomsk region to foreign countries. A total of 15 dogs and 10 cats have been cleared for travel, according to a press statement released on Friday.

The most popular destination for these pets' journey outside Tomsk seems to be Uzbekistan, the press release indicates. From January to April 2025, Rosseľhoznadzor has issued 22 such certificates for 25 pets — 15 dogs and 10 cats — both pedigreed and mixed breeds.

Reports also suggest that pet owners traveling to China, Serbia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, South Korea, Georgia, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, and Georgia have received certificates for their animal companions.

All the pets traveling must undergo mandatory identification through chip implantation, examination by state veterinary doctors, and vaccination in accordance with their species, the release notes.

Rosseľhoznadzor reminds pet owners to double-check the current regulations of the importing countries as they may change. For those planning to visit multiple countries or transit through them, it's crucial to know the veterinary and sanitary requirements of all nations that the pet will be present in.

Pet owners have the opportunity to input all necessary information about the pet, travel route, and transportation method in the E-cert system ahead of the journey, which significantly reduces the time required to obtain veterinary certificates at border checkpoints within the Russian Federation, as well as other locations for small pets.

With accurate and up-to-date information about pet exports from the Tomsk region difficult to find, it is advisable to reach out to Rosseľhoznadzor directly or consult their official publications for the most current and detailed data.

Traveling pets from the Tomsk region are now clearing for journeys to various countries, such as Uzbekistan, China, Serbia, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, South Korea, Georgia, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, and Georgia. As pet owners plan their trips, it's essential to familiarize themselves with the current regulations of the importing countries, as they might be subject to change, and ensure that their animal companions meet all necessary veterinary and sanitary requirements for multiple countries, if necessary.
