Wizz Air Expands Network in Romania with 30 New Routes
Wizz Air, the low-cost airline, is set to launch a significant network expansion in Romania for the 2025 winter season. The expansion will see the addition of 30 new routes from various cities in Romania, connecting passengers to key cities across central, northern, southern Europe, and even North Africa.
New Routes from Bucharest Otopeni
Starting October 14, Bucharest Otopeni will offer flights to Prague (Czech Republic), Berlin (Germany), and Bordeaux (France). From October 26, the airport will also connect to Turku (Finland) and Faro (Portugal), with flights operating multiple times a week.
New Routes from Cluj-Napoca
Cluj-Napoca will be connected to Marrakesh (Morocco) and Stockholm Skavsta (Sweden) starting October 26. The Moroccan route will operate once a day, while the Swedish route will have flights on Mondays and Fridays in the winter season and Thursdays and Sundays in the summer season. From March 29, 2026, Milan Malpensa (Italy) will also be accessible from Cluj-Napoca.
New Routes from Iași
Iași will be connected to Copenhagen (Denmark), Prague (Czech Republic), Valencia (Spain), and Pescara (Italy) starting October 27. The Danish and Czech Republic routes will operate every day, while the Spanish and Italian routes will have flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Pescara will debut on December 9.
New Routes from Brașov
Brașov, the newest Romanian airport base for Wizz Air, will connect to Milan Malpensa (Italy) and Copenhagen (Denmark) starting October 28. From January 27, 2026, Rome Fiumicino (Italy) will also be accessible from Brașov, operating every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Expanding the Network
This expansion marks Wizz Air’s largest network growth in Romania to date, linking Romania to key cities across Europe and North Africa. The airline currently has over 1,600 employees in Romania and offers 228 routes from 13 airports in Romania, connecting passengers to 85 destinations in 27 countries for the winter season.
With these new routes, Wizz Air aims to provide more travel options for Romanians and tourists, making it easier to explore Europe and beyond. The new routes will be operational starting late October 2025, with some routes starting in early 2026.
